Service Description
These scans are to assess the growth of your baby, the placenta and the fluid around baby. These measurements are used to assess the growth of your baby and are entered into a mathematical formula which will provide an estimate of the baby’s weight. Dating Scan (7 - 10 weeks) Nuchal Scan (11 - 13 weeks) Anatomy Scan (around 20 weeks) Growth Scan Twin Pregnancy • • • • • • For dating scan less than 10 weeks, we require you to come with a full bladder. Please empty your bladder one hour prior then drink 5 glasses (1 litre) of water. If your bladder is not full ten minutes before the scan please drink more water. If you are uncomfortably full you may let some out. For all other obstetric scans, no special preparation required. A referral is required for all scans.
